FOOD IS A BASIC NEED TO BE COVERED DURING THE PANDEMIC OF COVID-19.

 Home Economics, food science, the culinary art and many others  are taking the lead to provide you with information on how to prepare your meals. It is necessary to cover our nutritional needs to be able to survive and live no matter who we are and what we do. This is called basic need. In the difficult period of the pandemic of COVID-19 food is something we cannot avoid, restrict or refuse and we still have to care for our families. It is important to know and understand what our food contains and what is the character of each type  to prepare our meals. Understanding the cooking processes lead us to take the right decisions in the preparation of our food and improve the health standards of our meals. This makes us to avoid bad practices and improve the taste of our prepared meals. Different appropriate combinations of food materials can make a nice tasty meal for us and our children. The selection of the right utensils for each cooking processes makes our food better and more economical. This is not a simple task that most of the people think about it. This is the reason that many different areas of sciences and arts are undertaking research on how to do things better.

 



The impact of a new cooking is enormous when we think of such new discoveries that changed our world. Microwave cooking, the ovens and many other appliances have changed our everyday life. Today our kitchen is full of those appliances, some of them are characterized as standard equipment. However, this was not the case in the past, many years ago. It is quite obvious that there is an evolution of the way we cook and the appliances we use in our kitchen and cooking.
 






In the International Museum for Food and Gastronomy there is a substantial number of items that show this evolution from the very ancient times. This is only a very small part of the story as we cook today using a very large range of food materials. This is because the list of food materials for cooking has been enlarged enormously because of transport and food storage improvements. Immigration also brought new cooking ideas and gastronomies from places far away. People bring their culture with them when they immigrate or move to other places. One of the things they bring with them is their gastronomic culture. Today is very easy to find an ethnic restaurant in your neighbourhood, a Chinese, Greek, Italian, Thai, Indian or other. Western diet has been found in front of many rivals that cannot be definitely  overlooked. This is something that large food enterprises cannot foresee as the geopolitical changes affect this development.
